ODOMETER DISCLOSURE
The odometer reading or mileage is required on most applications for Florida title.
Vehicles Less Than 10 Calendar Years Old
When ownership changes on a vehicle less than 10 calendar years old, the seller must complete the title for transfer and disclose the current mileage at time of sale. When there is no ownership change (transferring from out-of-state/out-of-country), the mileage needs only to be declared by the current owner at time of application.
Separate odometer disclosure form
Vehicles Over 10 Calendar Years Old
Recording mileage is optional for vehicles over 10 years old. If the mileage is not being recorded, the word "EXEMPT" should be written in the proper place on the title or application for title.
Vehicles Exempt From Odometer
The following types of vehicles are exempt from odometer reading requirements:
- Vehicles over 10 calendar years old (optional)
- Vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 16,000 pounds
- Any motor vehicle that is not self-propelled
- Low speed electric vehicles
- Off-Highway vehicles
