Excellence is more than an idea at the Lee County Tax Collector’s Office, it is a standard of doing business. Larry Hart and the LCTC team were awarded the prestigious Legacy Award for excellence in the field of financial operations for the seventh time. This award is one of the most significant honors the Florida Tax Collector’s Association awards a local tax collector.

The process for consideration of the Legacy Award includes a comprehensive review of the tax collector’s financial functions. A five-person judging panel made up of government financial executives throughout the state of Florida review the tax collector’s financial records, practices and use of technology. The Lee County Tax Collector’s Office was honored with the Legacy Award for demonstrating proficiency in the areas of innovation and automation, having a perfect annual audit report, customer focus and budgeting.

“Even though the Lee County Tax Collector’s Office has received this award in the past, our team was especially proud to receive it this year. Over the last year, we’ve further enhanced our financial operations by implementing new technology to streamline processes and partnering with companies to save Lee County residents time and money,” said Larry Hart.
